Found my third fan music video!

First, I wanted to thank everyone for their extremely kind thoughts and well wishes here, on Facebook, and elsewhere for my recent health problems. It means worlds to me and really does help me get by that much easier.

I think the new meds are helping the seizures because I haven’t had any today (doc said that might happen). They’d gotten so much worse this week, though, that I’m having a hard time walking. I’ll deal with that over the actual seizures – hell yeah! Day’s not over yet, but you count your blessings by the hour, sometimes by the minute. Enjoy every moment that you can tolerate, lol. I mean, my normal meds aren’t touching my migraines or muscle pain in the stomach, legs, etc, but I’m sure it’d be tons worse without them, so it could always be worse. Chest keeps hurting, especially, but I think it’s from lying on my side a lot. See, my right shoulder wouldn’t stop twisting and jerking while in bed, and it kept waking me up, so I turned over and put my weight on the damn thing to keep it still.

Anyway, on to the blog post’s subject: I had a rough time getting to sleep last night, probably adjusting to new meds or whatever, so I searched through a bunch of VHS tapes. There were these three old music videos that I’d made in the 90s using two VCRs and a CD player, just for fun, and I’d found two of them, already. Well, I’d about figured the third was lost but finally found it. So I transferred it to digital and uploaded it to YouTube. I joke on each that shrooms were involved, as well, and yeah, I ate a lot of them with friends back then. Hallucinogenic mushrooms grew wild in the surrounding cow pastures down there and they were legal, at least at the time – don’t know if they are now. We’d pop in movies while music played and often times we’d notice how something would sync up so well like Pink Floyd and Wizard of Oz. Our favorite was Obituary’s “Cause of Death” CD with Evil Dead 2.

I had created a special part of my site for sharing things like videos and pictures. I don’t have much on it yet, but it should be a fun distraction for myself and I can hopefully share some laughs and fun memories with all of my friends, possibly scar a few minds, LOL!

Here are the specific links to the videos if you’d like to check them out. If you like them, by all means – Share!:

RIP Jani Lane of Warrant

Warrant’s Jani Lane has passed away at age 47. Besides giving us great music for years, he was a great guy. About five years ago (I don’t remember exactly when), the band stayed at a Comfort Inn I worked at, along with Firehouse, and they were to play locally later that evening. I had the honor of checking them in and mentioned how my wife would flip if she could see them, but due to her schizophrenia, she was no longer able to handle being around such large crowds.

Without a second thought, Jani marked us down on their guest list and said if she couldn’t stay for the entire show, they’d understand. So once I was home from work, I told Robin to get ready for a concert and we had a great time hanging with them! Hinder also opened for them and they were a very friendly group. Robin started having problems about midway through Warrant’s set so we had to leave, but it was a memorable experience for sure.

Thank you, Jani, for all you’ve given us. Rest in peace.

Guns ‘n’ Roses blast from the past

I was going down memory lane with my good friend, Adam Whitlatch, discussing how there were so many great albums released in the early 90′s. Stuff like Metallica’s Black Album, AC/DC’s Razor’s Edge, Nivana’s Nevermind, and the Use Your Illusion albums by Guns ‘n’ Roses. I told him how G ‘n’ R albums were among the first CDs I’d bought, and how I wish I still had them because of this “explicit lyrics” sticker on them. I did a quick search and found it! Ah, those were the days…

Starting back on the Metal Crypt!

Today, in about an hour, I’ll be back as Grimm on the Metal Crypt after being off since March. Woohoo!

Basically, I was getting so bad, health-wise, that I couldn’t concentrate well enough to be on a live show. A good example of me really struggling is our last interview (I believe in March) with Kevin Eastman, creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. You can listen to it on the Metal Crypt site HERE.

I’m gradually getting all the interviews on the site, btw. But on that one, Kevin was great and we had an awesome time, but I kept having massive brain farts. It’s normal to have some here and there, of course, but on that day, it was taking everything I had to stay with it. I made excuses for some, like the big boobs on the book cover being discussed was throwing me off, lol!

So tune in if you want. Lots of fun and hard music. The home page of the site is HERE and if you click on the “Play” button on the left, you can then use Windows Media Player or the like to listen.

You can also go to the main station HERE where I think it’ll automatically play, or it can tell you how to listen on iTunes, etc.
